St. Louis Church offers a multi-grade religious education setting for children 4 years of age through 10th grade (Pre-K/K/1st grade), 2nd/3rd grade, 4th/5th grade, Middle School (6th, 7th, 8th grade), and High School (9th/10th grade). All students are welcome and there is no cost to enroll.
Families enrolled in faith formation at St. Louis must be registered at one of the six parishes that make up family #22. While students attending Catholic schools receive faith training in school, we encourage public school students to join us. Our program meets the Catholic Diocese requirement for religious instruction. Our classes run from mid-September to late April. Classes are held in the Church Hall (located below the church in the basement) and occur between the two Sunday Masses, from 9:50 AM – 10:50 AM.
During the 2023-2024 academic year, we will have Sunday classes three times each month, from 9:50 - 10:50 a.m. Our faith formation class time allows families to attend the 9:00 Mass or the 11:00 Mass on Sunday. Two classes each month will be for our Pre-K to 10th-grade students. One class each month will be for families to learn about and engage in activities related to our faith together. We will also participate in several service activities throughout the year.
Families that attended faith formation last year are automatically re-enrolled for the 2023-2024 year. You will receive an email from the Director of Faith Formation in early August to confirm your enrollment. Please do so by Monday, August 21st.
New families should submit the registration form by Monday, August 21st to allow for class planning and purchasing of lessons. If registering after this date, please contact the Director of Faith Formation first to check availability.
Our catechists are knowledgeable parishioners who volunteer their time to pass on the Catholic faith to the next generation. We have a committed group of Catechists who have been with us for several years and we always welcome new Catechists. Our aim is for every grade to be taught by co-catechists and use a team-teaching approach. If you are interested in serving as a catechist, please contact the Director of Faith Formation, Ashlee Campbell by email at ReligiousEd@stlouisrcchurch.org or by phone at (443)744-0354.
There are a variety of opportunities for children to actively volunteer at Mass. Children can lector, usher, present the gifts, and be an altar server. Training for these roles is provided by the church. Children can volunteer as much or as little as desired and at the Mass they typically attend on the weekend.
Please contact the Director of Faith Formation, Ashlee Campbell, with any questions or concerns.
