Catholic Charities announced on July 8th that the appeal 2021 closed at $9,037,510.95. or 90.38% of its goal of $10 million dollars. In all nearly 30,000 donors contributed to the Catholic Charities Appeal allowing Catholic Charities to continue its good works throughout Western New York.
This was no easy task as we are just emerging from a pandemic that affected all of us in many and various ways. To witness the generosity of the good people of the Diocese of Buffalo and Western New York in such a way, is a great cause for HOPE.
Probably this year more than ever Catholic Charities was ever ready to meet the needs of those who especially suffered during this pandemic thanks to the generosity of so many.
As part of the Catholic Charities Appeal this year St. Louis Parish once again went over our goal. Last year St. Louis parishioners donated $116.227.92, $6077.92 over our goal for last year. This year our goal was $118.552. Through the generosity of our parish, St. Louis contributed $129,901.99 to the Appeal 2021 which was $11,349.99 over our goal. This shows that the people of St. Louis take seriously the commandment: “Love Your Neighbor as Yourself.”
Because of your work, your prayers and your generosity Catholic Charities has been blessed with the ability to continue its mission to our most needy neighbors. People in need across the diocese will be assisted because of your faithfulness to serving those in need.
