The Catholic Charities Annual Appeal is continuing. Catholic Charities is in critical need of your help to meet its 2018 Appeal goal. With one month remaining, the Appeal is short $1.2 million of its $11 million goal. The Catholic Charities Appeal is at 89% of its goal with $9,781,841.
On June 8th, Catholic Charities—with the support of a generous anonymous donor—will be matching all new Appeal gifts, dollar for dollar up to $50,000. This means a $10 contribution to the Appeal becomes $20. A $50 gift becomes $100. Just as Jesus multiplied the loaves and fishes to feed the multitudes, this is your chance to feed and bless our neighbors in need.
The population of the eight counties of Western New York is just over 1.5 million people. Last year, Catholic Charities of Buffalo served 152,919 people who were suffering and vulnerable. That equates to 1 out of every 10 people. If every household in the parish would give just $5 each on June 8th, Catholic Charities could achieve their goal and continue the critical work to serve those most at risk throughout the diocese.
THIS WEEKEND THE SECOND COLLECTION WILL BE FOR CATHOLIC CHARITIES. All money collected will be counted towards the Day of Giving Match on June 8th. Encourage your friends, family, and colleagues to support the Appeal and double their impact on June 8th. An individual contribution also can be made online June 8th by visiting: www.ccwny.org/donation.
Thank you for your continued support of Catholic Charities. St. Clare, pray for us.
