THE CHRISTMAS MIRACLE

This weekend we conclude our Christmas season with the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord. The first Christmas miracle occurred some 2000 years ago when Jesus was born into our world as our savior. There were moments this year when it was questionable whether or not we would have Christmas. The Christmas story, “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas,” reminds us that the Christmas miracle occurs with or without all of our usual traditions, parties, and gettogethers as we have found out this year. It certainly was a different Christmas, but we made it happen.

This miracle was able to occur thanks to many individuals who worked so hard to make Christmas come this year.
Michael and Christina Mandolfo worked countless hours to make live steaming of our Masses possible. Many people who could not physically be present were able to join us for our Christmas celebrations.

Even though we could not decorate the church in our usual fashion, that did not deter 23 of Santa’s helpers who came together and created a festive environment in which we could still celebrate the birth of Christ our Lord.

Because of the pandemic restrictions this year our wonderful choir was not able to assemble and assist us with our joyful celebration. In their place, Frank Scinta, Jim Mrozek, and Erin Peridotto did a miraculous job in providing us with
spectacular musical selections to make this a joyous celebration and lift our spirits.

As usual, our sacristans, ushers and greeters provided a warm welcome for all who were able to join us this year to
celebrate the Christmas miracle. Those who stayed after each of the Christmas season Masses, as well as the many weeks since we reopened, were like angels who whisked through the church to clean the pews that were occupied during Mass. They have been most dedicated to this new ministry in the church and deserve a great deal of thanks and appreciation for their hard work. Thank you also to all who prayed with us and visited us during the holidays.
