The mailing for the Annual Preservation Fund Drive has gone out and you should have received it in the mail by now. We were a little slow to begin this year because of a delay by the company that processes the mailing and our own change in personnel.
We are still being challenged by the Covid-19 pandemic especially as the delta variant continues to spread. Even though, we continue to see people returning to Mass that have been away for a long time. Through the grace of God and the intercession of St. Louis this will all end and we will be able to return to normal. Still, in the midst of all this, through your generosity, we have been able to maintain our parish operations and pay our bills. Also, thanks to your generosity, St. Louis earned a GOLD STAR for surpassing our goal for Catholic Charities again this year. Our goal was $118,000. We surpassed our goal by over $11,349.99 for a total of $129,901.99.
We have several projects underway and some finished. The side vestibules at the Main Street entrance of the church and stairwells to the choir are complete as are the refinishing of the exterior doors on Main Street and the Sacristy. Two projects that were not on our original list of things to do are also complete: some minor roof repair over the Sacristy and window repair in the Sacristy.
The projects yet to be completed are: cleaning the north side of the church of moss and repoint around the handicap ramp; replace the porch railing on the rectory; and replacing the entrance to the parking lot.
I thank you for your continued support of our parish. May St. Louis reward all of you for your kindness and generosity.
