This year the Office for the Propagation of the Faith in our diocese has assigned the Missionary Sisters of the Holy Rosary, to visit St. Louis Parish next weekend September 10th & 11th.
Every year during the summer months, the parishes of the Diocese host missionaries from around the world. These missionaries come to the parishes in the Diocese to explain the work that they do and to ask for our prayers and support for their various missions.
This year the Office for the Propagation of the Faith in our diocese has assigned the Missionary Sisters of the Holy Rosary, to visit St. Louis Parish.
A representative of the Missionary Sisters of the Holy Rosary will be with us next weekend September 10th & 11th. The Missionary Sisters of the Holy Rosary are a group of women religious founded in 1924 by an Irish Holy Ghost missionary, Bishop Joseph Shanahan, CSSP, to collaborate in the evangelization of Christian womanhood, modeled on Mary.
The Missionary Sisters of the Holy Rosary are now an international community working in nine countries of Africa and Brazil. They serve in all forms of education, medical work, pastoral work, community development and agriculture and assisting trafficked women, internally displaced families and the homeless.
They are strictly a missionary group with no institutions in the United States or Canada. Most of the Sisters do not receive salaries or stipends, but solely depend on the generosity of the people here who support them by funds provided by the Society for the Propagation of the Faith.
The Sisters ask for your prayers of support as well as for any contribution you can make to assist them. Next weekend, September 10th and 11th the second collection will be for the support of the Missionary Sisters of the Holy Rosary. You will be remembered in their daily prayer.
