Honoring Ms Dolores Vasi, our long time St. Louis as Administrative Assistant.
Ms Dolores Vasi, who worked at St. Louis as Administrative Assistant and much more was invited by the Lord to receive a place of honor at the heavenly banquet feast this past May 25th.
Dolores was born to Frank and Rose Vasi on May 1, 1941. She was a graduate of Grover Cleveland High School. Upon graduation Dolores began her career as an Administrative Assistant, first in the Insurance Industry. She then moved on to become an Administrative Assistant at Roswell Park Cancer Institute for just under thirty years.
Dolores began her career at St. Louis as an Administrative Assistant when she was hired by Msgr. Robert Mack in July 1998. She faithfully served St. Louis under Msgr. Mack, Bishop Cunningham, and myself. She often offered to turn herself in for a younger model, but I wouldn’t accept. She was too good at what she did and it was a sad day when she said she wanted to retire. It was only then that we were forced to look elsewhere for someone to replace her.
Dolores was a very determined person. She never learned to drive, so she used the bus or taxi to get around. She never wanted to inconvenience anyone. In bad weather, I would offer to give her a ride home, and she would reluctantly and hesitatingly agree.
Dolores was a very faithful member of St. Marks Church where she attended Mass every Sunday at 7:00AM. She volunteered to count the collection on Sunday. She was devoted to St. Teresa.
We give thanks to God for his good and faithful servant and pray for her eternal rest.
