We ask for continued patience and understanding and cooperation during this transitional time.
As we move forward with out Family of Parishes, we will see a number of changes in the way things are done. Our Pastor, Fr. Raymond Corbin, will begin forming the Family very shortly. Until then, there will be questions some of which will have immediate answers and some of which the answers will come down the road. Until then everyone is asked for their patience and understanding and most especially cooperation.
Some recommendations for this time of flux were published in the bulletin of St. Anthony on the weekend of June 4th:
Don’t cling; Jesus never stayed in any one village or town but was continuously on the move. The early missionaries to our country were the same. Don’t cling. Do let go so that greater things may happen.
Don’t be selfish; It’s natural to want to cling to something good and there are a lot of good things happening in our parish. It’s OK to recognize and appreciate the blessings God has given us, but the gifts we have been given are given to share. The Road to Renewal will only be fruitful if we approach it with a spirit of openness. Please be willing to share your time, your knowledge, and your very selves with others.
Don’t compare; Comparing is dangerous and traps us in the past to the things and people we love. Comparing prevents us from experiencing the grace of the moment. Stop and recognize and give thanks for what we have and be open to the opportunities of the moment.
Don’t be afraid; God loves us through all things. Jesus reveals this in his resurrection. There is no hardship that God couldn’t love us through. Jesus knew that his mission was glorifying God. Don’t be afraid of the future. Do put your trust in God.
