Please continue to pray for our Road to Renewal and the successful development of our Family of Parishes.
As was announced last week, on May 17th Bishop Michael Fisher gathered with some forty priests of the Diocese to make appointments to several Families of Parishes of the Diocese. The Downtown Family of Parishes of which we are a part was included in these appointments. Ten Pastors, fifteen Senior Parochial Vicars, thirteen Parochial Vicars and Special Ministries were appointed. Among the Special Ministries were priests appointed to Campus Ministry, Hospital Chaplaincy, and myself as full time Judicial Vicar for the Diocese.
I have been serving for the past 19 years as Judicial Vicar while also serving as the Pastor of St. Louis. Prior to becoming the Pastor of St. Louis I was serving as the Full Time Judicial Vicar for the Diocese while residing at Blessed Sacrament Church. So, I am returning to the position that I held previously. I will be residing at St. Louis Church and assisting with our Family of Parishes.
Our Family of Parishes is made up of St. Anthony, Blessed Sacrament, St. Joseph Cathedral, St. Louis, St. Michael, and Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Father Raymond Corbin has been appointed as Pastor of our Family of Parishes. He has been serving as Pastor of St. Stephen’s on Grand Island.
These appointments are effective June 1, 2023. However, the development of the Family of Parishes will not occur right away. It most likely will begin around the beginning of July by the time things are in place.
Please continue to pray for our Road to Renewal and the successful development of our Family of Parishes.
