CELEBRATING THE GIFT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

Last Sunday, May 29th, was the Feast of Pentecost. Traditionally, this is a day for celebrating the gift of the Holy Spirit. On this day the Sacrament of Confirmation is also celebrated when the gift of the Holy Spirit is called down upon candidates for the Sacrament.

About eighty young people were confirmed last Sunday afternoon in a ceremony celebrated by Bishop Michael Fisher at the Cathedral. Among those who were confirmed were 9 members of St. Louis Church. The Gift of the Holy Spirit was conferred upon: Charles Benz, John Benz, Maria Cavagnaro, Luca D’Angelo, Cameron Gallagher, Annalise Gothgen, Carolyn Manning, Lola Quinn, and Noah Rajecki.

We congratulate the members of our parish who have given witness to their faith by preparing themselves for the Sacrament of Confirmation through prayer, study and works of charity. We thank their parents and sponsors who have been their first teachers in the ways of faith by their example and witness to the faith.
