The fourth Sunday of Lent is called Laetare Sunday.
This is the fourth Sunday of Lent. It is called Laetare Sunday. The term Laetare means rejoice. Lent is nearing its end which is a cause for rejoicing not because we are nearing the end of Lent, but because we are closer to celebrating Easter and the Resurrection of the Lord.
In this week’s second reading St. Paul, writing to the Corinthians, speaks of being “ambassadors for Christ”. An “ambassador” is an official representative usually representing a head of state in another country.
In the sense that St. Paul intends, Christians are the official representatives of Christ, people will meet Christ through us.
As we continue our Lenten season, we are challenged to act like Christ in all we do.
