Merry Christmas to all!
Merry Christmas to all. The Feasts of Christmas have begun. Our Christmas celebration is not just one day. The Season gives us the opportunity to celebrate Christmas joy this year for 16 days. Traditionally, Christmas was celebrated from Christmas Day until the Feast of the Epiphany which is twelve days later.
There are several feasts that are celebrated as part of the Christmas Season. These include: Holy Family, December 30th; The Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God, January 1st (New Year’s Day); Epiphany, January 8th; and the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord, January 9th. Unfortunately, all of these feasts will not be celebrated on Sunday this year.
In Jesus, the child, born for us is the grace of God that appears saving all. Like the angels and shepherds we worship in joy and praise the glory of God. The Feast of the Holy Family reminds us of the example of Joseph’s and Mary’s faithfulness following God’s call to bear his only Son. The Magi of Epiphany rejoice at the great manifestation of the Lord when after following a star they find the new born Christ Child. The Lord’s light is for all to see. The Feast of the Baptism of the Lord concludes the Christmas Season. Jesus is the Father’s beloved Son and the Father delights in him. Many Blessings to you and your loved ones.
