To further the efforts of the Pro-Life activities in the Diocese of Buffalo, a special collection has been established to assist two very worthwhile programs.
The month of October is Respect Life Month. Respect for life encompasses all aspects of human life from conception to natural death. In order to further the efforts of the Pro-Life activities in the Diocese of Buffalo, a special collection has been established to assist two very worthwhile programs sponsored by the Pro-Life Ministry of the Diocese. The collection is supposed to be held on Pro-Life Sunday which was October 6th. This special second collection this year will be held at St. Louis next weekend. The collection benefits the St. Gianna Molla Pregnancy Outreach Center and the Mother Teresa Home.
The St. Gianna Molla Pregnancy Outreach Center is a pastoral outreach of the Office of Pro-Life Activities of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Buffalo. The Center follows the example of St. Gianna Molla in respecting, protecting and cherishing all human life as a precious gift from God. The Center serves life by providing material, emotional and spiritual support to single mothers, fathers and young families in need from pregnancy through the first years of life. There are several locations throughout the Diocese. They are located in Downtown Buffalo, Olean, NY, Fredonia, NY, Cheektowaga, NY, and Niagara Falls, NY. The Gianna Molla Centers provide: clothing, blankets, bibs, bottles, diapers, wipes, and basic infant care necessities.
The Mother Teresa Home is to promote safety, stability, and well-being for people who have experienced or been exposed to pressure in regards to their pregnancy. The Mother Teresa Home provides shelter, community service, and education services for all mothers in need. The program supports homeless pregnant and/or parenting young people between the ages of 16 and 26. Services are provided for up to 18 months. The goal is to teach young people parenting skills as well as child development, family budgeting, education, health and nutrition, and other skills to promote and ensure the well-being of their children. This is all accomplished by providing safe, stable living accommodations for young pregnant and parenting women.
We ask for your support in this special collection next weekend October 26th and 27th.
