The United States Catholic Conference of Bishops has asked all dioceses to take up a collection for the humanitarian, long-term recovery of those affected by the storms.
Over the last several years there have been more and more natural disasters, storms, hurricanes and the like. In each case, we have been asked to help out those who have been affected to put their lives back together.
Bishop Malone has reminded all parishes that the storm season for 2018 has just begun and already creating havoc in the lives of many people. The Carolinas have just experienced Hurricane Florence severely damaging and destroying many homes, businesses, and churches.
The United States Catholic Conference of Bishops has asked all dioceses to take up a collection for the humanitarian, long-term recovery of those affected by the storms. This weekend October 6 and 7 the second collection is for the 2018 Disasters Emergency Collection. The funds collected will be used to support the efforts of Catholic Charities USA and/or Catholic Relief Services to assist the rebuilding of those areas affected by natural disasters this year.
Once again your generosity in this collection will be greatly appreciated.
