There is much to celebrate at St Louis Church!
This weekend we celebrate the Feast of St. Louis King of France. St. Louis is most noted for his service to the people of God, especially the poor. He is also well known for protecting and preserving the sacred Holy Land sites that recall the life of Jesus.
This weekend we celebrate our faith life inspired by St. Louis with our annual picnic. We join together as a faith community to celebrate our blessings and strengthen our commitment to serving the people of God in our community.
At this time of year we also begin our Annual Preservation Fund Drive which helps us to continue our ministry to the people of God in our community and to preserve our Holy site.
The present structure of St. Louis Church was built in 1885. Over the years countless projects have been undertaken to sustain and maintain the integrity of our beautiful structure. Something needs attention every year.
Underway is the long awaited project to install a lift to the church hall and a handicap bathroom so that those who have difficulties with mobility will be able to more easily join us for our activities held in the church hall. This project is being financed through our contributions to the campaign held a few years ago.
As the structure of the church ages there is always something that needs attention. We noticed that the top of the stairway near the handicap ramp has deteriorated leaving an open hole. Obviously it will need immediate attention. Our Preservation Fund this year will be used to address this situation as well as some other minor projects.
Thanks to your generosity in the past we have been able to maintain our beautiful Gothic Grandeur. With your generous support we will continue to be able to keep everything in good repair.
The Annual Preservation Fund Drive mailing has gone out and we await your response and thank you for your generous support.
