Next Sunday we will celebrate the Feast of St. Louis King of France, August 25th, our annual picnic and also begin our Annual Preservation Fund Drive.
Next Sunday we will celebrate the Feast of St. Louis King of France, August 25th. St. Louis is most noted for his service to the people of God, especially the poor. He is also well known for protecting and preserving the sacred Holy Land sites that recall the life of Jesus.
Next Sunday we will celebrate our faith life inspired by St. Louis with our annual picnic. We join together as a faith community to celebrate our blessings and strengthen our commitment to serving the people of God in our community, and enjoying the friendships we have all made being a part of St. Louis.
At this time of year we also begin our Annual Preservation Fund Drive which helps us to continue our ministry to the people of God in our community and to preserve our Holy site.
The present structure of St. Louis Church was built in 1885. Over the years countless projects have been undertaken to sustain and maintain the integrity of our beautiful structure. Something needs attention every year.
As is quite obvious, underway is the replacement of the entrance way on the St. Louis entrance (handicap ramp side of the church). On the Edward Street side of the church the badly damaged wall and stairs down to the hall are being replaced. Work will also be done on the sacristy stairs that are also deteriorating. The Annual Preservation Fund Drive will be used this year for these projects. Along with the Preservation Fund Drive additional funds that we receive from the Upon This Rock campaign will be used for the project.
Thanks to your generosity in the past we have been able to maintain our beautiful Gothic Grandeur. With your generous support we will continue to be able to keep everything in good repair.
The Annual Preservation Fund Drive mailing has gone out and we await your response and thank you for your generous support.
