Together we can and will help our neighbors find hope.
Our Easter Season is well underway as we move into the fourth week of Easter. It has been a busy time of year for our parish. Thanks to many who volunteered their time and their talent to carry out a successful Holy Week and Easter celebration. There is always so much that needs to be done to prepare for and carry out the beautiful liturgies of Palm Sunday, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday. One person cannot do it all. Many people volunteered numerous times to help over the course of those days. Thank you to everyone who helped: Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, Altar Servers, Musicians and those who decorated the church time and again. With everyone working together the celebrations were beautiful and prayerful. Thank you to all who also prayed with us in those days.
The 2019 Catholic Charities Appeal also continues at this time of year until June 30th. May 2nd with less than two months to go, Catholic Charities provided an update of the Appeal. At that time 65% of the $11 million goal had been reached. Since that time the amount raised continues to inch forward. At the middle of this week, the Appeal was at 66.98% of the goal. Here at St. Louis we are at more than 81% of our goal.
Catholic Charities has also announced Hope Day 2019, an online, communitywide day of giving which will be held on Friday, May 17th. Hope Day 2019 is another opportunity to raise even more funds for the 2019 Appeal. The first $50,000, thanks to an anonymous donor, raised that day will be matched dollar-for-dollar in an effort to help achieve this year’s $11 million goal. Together we can and will help our neighbors find hope.
