REORGANIZATION RESOURCES

As was announced a week ago Friday our Diocese Filed for Chapter 11 Reorganization. In light of that announcement, the Diocese has developed a special web page to provide further information to the people of the Diocese. It is titled REORGANIZING FOR THE FUTURE and can be found at www.buffalodiocese.org/reorganization.

There are a number of questions and answers (Q&As) included, as well as a video message from Bishop Scharfenberger. In addition there is a downloadable Reorganization Booklet. This Booklet has also been distributed to all parishes this past week. An information Help Line has also been set up at 1(833) 302-0061 to answer your questions and concerns more immediately.

Also if you have any questions that are not answered in the published information the Reorganization web page has a place where you can ask a specific question by way of email. 

The web site will be updated regularly as new information becomes available. Please keep in mind that this is a complex process and will take time to complete. It can take up to a year to complete.

The more immediate questions that parishioners have concern about are donations to their parishes, Catholic Charities and Upon This Rock. Parishes and Catholic Charities are separately incorporated organizations and are not part of the Chapter 11 filing. The funds that have been donated to Upon This Rock are protected funds as well and are not a part of the Chapter 11 filing. Your donations to the parish, Catholic Charities and Upon This Rock are safe.

Let us all pray together that this process may bring about long awaited and long needed healing for victims/survivors, the faithful of the Diocese and for the Church as a whole and that we will be a stronger faith community in the future.
