This weekend our liturgy turns to Ordinary Time. This is the time between Christmas and Lent. In a few short weeks we will move into Lent and our preparation for Easter. The cycle of time and of our lives continues.

With the Feast of the Baptism of our Lord last week our Christmas Season is complete for another year. Christmas at St. Louis was once again a very joyful experience of faith, prayer and community. Beginning with our Christmas party and Lessons and Carols in December and ending last weekend many parishioners, friends and guests graced us with their presence throughout the season.
So many of you were so helpful in making this Christmas Season very special for all of us. All of the celebrations surrounding Christmas would not have been possible without each and every one of you for your contributions. Whether in planning, preparing, or arranging the celebrations, none would have been possible without the many volunteers who give of their time and talent to help us celebrate the birth and presence of our Lord.
Thank you to everyone who offered their time to help with decorating the hall for the Christmas party and the church for Liturgies. Thank you to all who served as Altar Servers, Eucharistic Ministers, Greeters, Ushers, Sacristans, Music Ministers and participants in all of our Liturgies. It is during this time that we see how many people it takes to create a joyful environment for a joyful celebration befitting the Birth of our Lord.
Your gifts of time and talent truly reflect the words of Samuel in today’s First Reading: “Speak, for your servant is listening.” You have heard the voice of the Lord speaking to you and have responded with such generosity to provide the true Spirit of Christmas. St. Louis is truly blessed because of each one of you. Thank you and may God Bless you for your expression of faith.
