Many thanks to everyone for participating in this Christmas season!
Today, our liturgical calendar returns us to Ordinary Time after the many celebrations of Christmas which as always were beautiful because of your participation. It all began with Lessons and Carols on the Sunday before Christmas continuing through our Christmas, New Year’s, and Post-Christmas celebrations.
Every year when I greet people before and after Mass, I hear so many compliments as if I did everything myself which we all know is not true. I am always sure to remind people that I did not do this all by myself. The truth is that each of you in some way made Christmas beautiful at St. Louis.
We are grateful to all who donated toys, hats, scarfs, mittens, and necessary things for people in need in our community. Our appreciation goes out to all who contributed to the Christmas flower collection, those who decorated (and undecorated) our worship space creating an environment that lifted our spirits to God. Many people contributed to the successful celebration of our Masses including Msgr. Madsen; our musicians, Frank Scinta, Jim Mrozek and the choir; our Altar Servers, Eucharistic Ministers, Greeters, Lectors, Sacristans and Ushers; many of whom assisted more than once during the Christmas celebrations. We appreciate the many people who came to worship with us who were able to experience the love and goodness of God that was so evident here in our parish community.
We are truly blessed to have so many people help us honor our Lord who loves us all. May you all enjoy a very blessed New Year with much joy, love and peace.
