Thanks to everyone who graced St. Louis Parish during this holiday season!
This weekend the Church begins the Season of Ordinary Time. This will lead us into the Season of Lent. This portion of the Liturgical Calendar that we call Ordinary Time will end on February 14th, Ash Wednesday, and will resume after the Easter Season.
We have just concluded another Christmas Season thanks to many who have contributed time and talent. For us the Advent-Christmas Season began the First Sunday of Advent with our program People of Faith which highlighted some of the traditions that we celebrate during this Holy Season. Our Christmas Party in December helped to put us into the holiday spirit. Lessons and Carols gave us time to reflect on the purpose of this season, welcoming Christ. All who helped carry out the Christmas preparations and celebrations have been a gift from God and an image of the birth of Jesus in our time.
Every contribution whether voice lifted in song, ministry in the liturgical celebrations or simply helping to decorate brought out the joy of this season for so many to celebrate. Every role from leading the singing, to reading our scriptures to hanging a wreath is equally important. Our Christmas would not be without each one who helped.
I wish to thank everyone who graced St. Louis Parish during this holiday season adding to the joy and festive spirit of our celebration. Truly, Christ is born and comes alive in our community when we celebrate, work and pray together. May God Bless you through the coming year.
