CATHOLIC CHARITIES 2019 APPEAL COMPLETE
July 19, 2019 | Pastor's Corner
Catholic Charities officials announced on June 30th that the 2019 Appeal in support of Catholic Charities and the Fund for the Faith achieved a total of $9,308,843 in cash and pledges, representing 85% of its $11 million goal.
Going into this Appeal year, Bishop Malone supported providing choices for donors. It was decided to enact ways in which Catholic Charities could hold down non-direct service costs across their organization, such as not filling vacant support positions, consolidating services and selling underutilized properties. These efforts mean that for this year services will remain stable. Next year, efforts will be redoubled and the hope is that those who decided not to give this year will reconsider in 2020.
St. Louis again put forth a great effort to help Catholic Charities surpass their $11 million goal. St. Louis parishioners contributed $98,698.78 to the Appeal this year. That is $17,517.47 short of our goal for this year. This is due in part to a donation to Catholic Charities of $15,000 that was not given through St. Louis Church this year. All in all, St. Louis parishioners have come forward with a great deal of support for Catholic Charities as usual. As we can see, everyone working together can do great things. Thank you for supporting the good works of Catholic Charities
T he annual Appeal helps fund 70 programs and services administered by Catholic Charities across 61 sites in the eight counties of Western New York, along with a number of programs and ministries that benefit parishes and the faithful through the Fund for the Faith.
As we can see, everyone working together can do great things. Thank you for supporting the good works of Catholic Charities.
