Thank you to all who brought the Resurrection of the Lord alive in a beautiful way.
On Easter Sunday afternoon, I received a text message thanking me for a beautiful week of Holy Week services. It also complimented me on the great direction that makes things flow seamlessly. I replied to the text thanking him for all his help during the week. I couldn’t do it all without you and everyone else that helped.
The Holy Week and Easter services take the effort of many people working throughout the week to prepare and celebrate prayerfully these most holy days. There are several arrangements that must occur during the week to prepare the environment for the proper celebration of each service.
Palm Sunday and Holy Week require one arrangement in Church. Holy Thursday requires another, one a little more elaborate. Good Friday yet another. The Easter Vigil has many elements that need to be readied for the celebration of the Vigil and then, Easter Sunday. There were many people who worked throughout the week to make all of this happen: members of the Garden Society, sacristans, and volunteers. Approximately 30 people joined together on Holy Saturday to prepare our Sanctuary and Church into a beautiful space to honor our Risen Lord.
During the week, several Lectors; Eucharistic Ministers; Greeters; the Choir, directed by Frank Scinta; our Cantors, Jim Mrozek and Erin Terhaar; and Sacristans all contributed to the solemn celebrations of Holy Week and Easter. This could not have happened without all of this help. It is due to the many talents of all these wonderful people that we were able to celebrate this Easter with joy, new life, and hope.
Thank you to all who brought the Resurrection of the Lord alive in a beautiful way.
